There is a common misperception that a child with a high IQ level is likely to accomplish great fortunes in the future. Some philosophers believe it to be true and accordingly, they consider low IQ children to be less likely to make accomplishments in the future. According to them, an intelligent child’s standard I.Q is 150 and children with lower I.Q are less like to be considered high achievers in the future Here is where kids Iq test comes in help.
While many philosophers have a different point of view. High IQ in childhood does not correspond to a high achieving future since the IQ level is not necessarily going to grow as the child enters adulthood. Research shows, in many cases, the average IQ level of high IQ achievers dropped in adulthood as compared to average IQ of random children.
How to undermine these issues? Considering a bigger picture might be the solution to this problem. Factors such as parental I.Q, genetic polygenic scores, environment, social and economic conditions, and even religion can be considered as contributing factors in future intelligence prediction.
Special schools for children with high I.Q
Research has been conducted on children with high I.Q by introducing them to a special environment. These children were taught courses of a bit higher difficulty level as compared to the courses in other schools. Furthermore, they were given a more creative environment, and results show the children performed better than the students studying in stereotypical schools.
According to research, if high I.Q children are given an opportunity to study with same I.Q level peers, they can perform better. It is essential that they must be exposed to education with better difficulty level as an exercise for their higher intellectual skills. If these children are isolated from such an environment and introduced to regular schools, they might end up miserably in the future.
The children at gifted schools turned out to be lawyers, physicians, and professors in future but they did not perform as was expected from them. Although they did well nothing particularly revolutionizing that could be stated as a dominant accomplishment.
Meanwhile, people such as Norbert Wiener who has revolutionized the world with cybernetics had never been to such schools for gifted children. He has mentioned his family issues that have led to a hard living. What if he had lived a happy life? Some people suggest that his difficulties motivated him towards his inventions.
So does high I.Q indeed predicts accomplishments in future? Or the problem was with the I.Q determination and sampling rate? There are many conflicts to the answers.
A better approach to more predictive answers
The results can be improved with more detailed analysis. Considering the heritability affects a child’s I.Q up to 25% at the age of 5, the I.Q level of the family can be a contributing factor.
Furthermore, the polygenic scores and other factors such as race, social and economic conditions must not be neglected. If an estimation of intelligence is made based on the collective result of all factors, a better selection can be made for students at gifted schools.
